Managing Emotions During Uncertain Times

Our colleague Esther Doucette, The Social Worker at the Wellness Centre, created this resource last year when so much was happening in the world around us. And once again, at the start of 2025, we are within Canada, and abroad, facing many levels of change, transition, uncertainty, and conflict. These strategies can help.

Tips from Esther Doucette, MSW, RSW


Many people these days are feeling some level of worry, overwhelm, anger, sadness and/or powerlessness in light of what we are hearing and seeing from events around the world. You may be worrying about family or friends abroad or those close to you (young and old) and how they are coping. Although we cannot solve the issue of world conflict and global warming, if we are physically safe, there are things that we can do to help ourselves to cope with how overwhelmed we can become with everything that is happening.
